Nicola jumped ship faster than I thought and the SNP’s decline, albeit with one poll, but a heck of a poll, the SNP down to 21 seats, is faster too. I think Nicola did look at the in tray for the next wee while & didn’t fancy it at all. My apocalyptic prediction may not be so far off the mark. If the SNP rushes into appointing a new leader who will simply be another devolutionist I see the SNP in reality (rather than bluster) forgetting about independence rather than the Scottish people. The likeliest scenario is probably an almighty barny/split in the party which won’t be good either. I can’t see the SNP mustering anything like the number of MPs required to hold any balance of power.
Not a bad summation John but I think it unlikely that the public will let go of the idea of independence any time soon
Stammer may well win the next election but the SNP could be the official opposition
